For April Fools day we decided it would be nice to visit Fisherman's Wharf; it is located on the south side of Victoria's Inner Harbour. It was very cool for Victoria that day, arctic air from the interior had leaked out over the southern tip of the Island relieving us from our usual balmy west coast weather.
The sun was shining though and the proprietors on the wharf were open for business. Barb's Fish and Chips was busy as usual, however the Ice Cream merchant was rather lonely. I had my camera with me and was able to get a few decent shots. It is always fun taking pictures of houseboats. They are usually very colourful making for great pictures on a nice sunny day. All of the houses at Fisherman's Wharf are unique, most likely a reflection of those who choose to make this special neighbourhood their home.
There are a couple of resident harbour seals hanging around the docks looking for handouts. They remind me of my Golden Retriever, her main focus in life is food, and the seals are no different. You can buy raw fish at the dock to give to the seals. We didn't buy any, but the seal did some poses for me anyway. It is quite cool how they just hang in the water a foot or so under and look up at you waiting and hoping.
